We invite you to join our circle and develop the knowledge and skills involved in creating a sustainable Indigenous garden lifestyle.
We will be teaching a worldview of agriculture that supports earth restoration and independence. Our ideal mentee will be those looking for a longer (multiple season) commitment if possible.
About Seedkeeper School
Haudenosaunee Seedkeeper Terrylynn Brant is happy to offer a special Seedkeeper School for those involved in the Indigenous garden at the Country Heritage Park in Milton. Terrylynn or Totáh Será:sera, is a traditional Mohawk Seedkeeper, who owns and operates the Haudenosaunee Sustainable Living Centre at Mohawk Seedkeeper Gardens on Six Nations. She has grown up and was mentored in the ways of Haudenosaunee agriculture her whole life.
Sessions will be held at Mohawk Seedkeeper Gardens on Six Nations. Volunteer time, in-between sessions, will be arranged at the Indigenous Garden site in Milton, putting learned skills to use. We are striving to develop a sustainable agricultural network that can even be applied to mentee’s home gardens.
We will explore many topics like basic Indigenous agriculture, clan plantings, Nation Building, ceremonial and celestial knowledge, Haudenosaunee worldviews, ecological restoration, and Haudenosaunee Cuisine taught by Mohawk Chef Tawnya Brant, Owner of Yawekon Restaurant, to name a few.
